TREND WATCH: COLOUR BLOCKING

With the Spring/Summer collections hitting the store shelves, you may have noticed the trend ‘colour blocking’ which I’m really enjoying right about now. From designers Christian Dior, Ossie Clark to cheap and cheerful Asda and Primark; all brands seem to be using up this trend and from what I’ve seen, they’re doing a good job of it.

The art to getting this trend right is to team colours from the same family together. If you’re looking for a harmonious look, think bright pinks with bruised fuchsias, turquoise and royal blue. If you’re opting for orange and red – their warm colours so keep them together.
If you’re like me and like a mish mash of styles and colours, work stately purples in with contrasting fiery oranges. Try green with pink for a pleasantly jarring combination. If you’re a shy gal and want to down play this trend, follow simple colours like grey and black as seen on the ASOS jersey dress above.
