Microsoft founder Bill Gates arrived in Nigeria last week armed with a budget of £4 million to help combat the fight with polio.Gates visited Sokoto State in northwest Nigeria before travelling to capital Abuja for a meeting with governors where they informed him of the efforts they were making to fight the disease.
Gates has vowed to work alongside the World Health Organisation (WHO), World Bank and UNICEF in a bid to eradicate the disease in the few countries where it exists. I’m glad to see there are key personalities who are able to reward suffering countries with such a gift. Bill Gates, we salute you.
