People, never wait to see if you can a) blag or b) get freeness for a concert you desperately want to go to, as it’s nine times out of ten bound to end up in tears as I’ve recently found.
When the news broke Beyonce would be doing her World Tour, playing numerous dates at the O2 Arena, I made a mental note that I would buy tickets for this gig, credit crunch or no credit crunch. When the tickets went on sale, I talked myself into not buying them as I had other means of possibly going for free via my sista’ from another mother having contacts within the Beyonce camp. With the concert starting later this month and no tickets in my hand, I have no option but to enter the various competitions for a chance to get me some tickets! This means buying numerous packs of Trident chewing gum in a bid to get the winning promo code which graces me with tickets or entering the daily competition on the Breakfast show with Martin and Lucy – all if which I’ve done and been unsuccessful in. I’m so gutted as I know the show is going to be uber sick and I won’t be present to witness it. So, should any of you have tickets and are ready to sell at a good price, hit me up please. Likewise, if you just want to ‘offer’ tickets to me free of charge – I’m happy to start conversations on that too. The choice is yours… I’m not fussy.
Hooray!!! She’s done it! I know you all hear me. Ms Kelly as per the title of her latest album announced in a joint statement with Mathew Knowles this week the two are severing their working relationship. Well it’s about time is all I can say!
I’ve been lucky enough to have been present on a photo shoot for Ms Rowland sometime last year and when I say this woman oozes sex appeal, I ain’t lying. It’s so natural to her without being contrived its unreal; I’ve not seen anything like it before. When I first arrived on set, she had no make up on and she looked a million dollars. When the shoot started she started posing for the camera and it was like ‘ca bam!’ She was on fire. I was in awe, not because she’s famous, but because of how she was working it so effortlessly. So ladies, when I say without a shadow of a doubt that Kelly Rowland CAN produce a video looking as hot as Beyonce did in “Singles Ladies” with the success to match, you best believe.
Ok, you didn’t think I was going to gloss over this in my intro did you? Come on… this was history in the making, a whole section of the Fierce List is required to cover this – I know you agree with me.
So let’s start of with the first sight viewers and revellers got to see of Obama walking down the stairs of the Capitol Building, pre pledging his oath. The overwhelming look of joy was so touching to see right? I was totally taken in with him and was so happy I was able to witness the first steps of his incredible journey to becoming the President of the United States.
Secondly, the beautiful grin beaming from his face, as he stood up beside his wife to recite the 35 word oath. Even when Chief Justice John Roberts stumbled on the words, President Barack Obama, patiently waited until Roberts corrected himself to which he continued to recite the oath. However according to many reports, they say that President Obama (oooh how I love saying this…), made the error which is highly irritating as I’m sure this wasn’t the case. Any how… he’s the President – who cares!
Thirdly, the speech… If I’m honest (and not that I’m particularly ashamed), I don’t remember former President George Bush’s inauguration, however President Obama’s is one that I will probably remember forever.
I’m not big on speeches, however I’m sure many historians will remember President Obama’s speech as a memorable one. One which was well delivered and did what it was suppose to do; an attempt to pull the Democratic party towards the political centre as well as a call to the United States to rise and fight its current troubles. However, what made it special for me and also made me gutted I wasn’t present in Washington DC to witness the inauguration myself, was the fact that I wanted to be part of history and say that I witnessed the first African American president enter the White House with my own two big eyes… plain and simple. Who knows if this will be something that will happen again in our lifetime? The words from his speech that I would have rejoiced at, should I have been in Washington was when he said “… a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.” Do you remember how you felt after he said this? Do you remember how the crowed roared after he said this? Well, you can’t blame them… Such a beautiful moment, that will stay with me as long as I live.
Fourthly, President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and Malia and Sasha looking like a beautiful, beautiful family. I love the fact there is a black family in politics that black people can look up to and be nothing but proud of. (Rev Run, don’t worry, I still love you and your family!)
Fifthly, First Lady Michelle Obama’s inaugural ball dress by designer Jason Wu – she looked truly stunning. Oh and I forgot to mention the outfits for the Malia and Sasha too, best looking daughters of a President I’ve ever seen.
Finally, President Obama asking his wife and First Lady for the “At Last” dance of the inauguration day whilst listening to the soulful voice of Beyonce. The sight was truly beautiful. Plus Mr President can move... and has ‘bare’ lyrics! She how he got his ‘mac’ on with his wife in the video below.
All I have to say is Beyonce is the epitome of fierce! She is just too damn hot. It’s like someone needs to tell her to ‘take a break. Just take it easy. Your fierceness is killing the nation’ know what I mean? Regardless if you’re a hater, she is on fire; first the video for her track’ Single Ladies’then her ‘effortless’ performance with Alexandra on X Factor as well as her solo performance of “If I was a Boy”. Jeez…
For those who missed both performances (I doubt there are many that did – apparently 8 million tuned in last week Saturday), watch the videos below to be blown away…

About The Fierce List
The Fierce List blog aims to inform readers on all things 'fierce' every Friday when you're winding down from work, preparing for the weekend. (Let's face it, not much work gets done or even started on a typical Friday in the office).
Whether it be people, fashion, beauty or all things lifestyle and more importantly of interest to the likes of me and you, I hope you will be able to find it here.
Where I'm able to blag some decent 'freeness' from various clients and PR's I will look to spread the love amongst my subscribers... (that's if there is a spare one going) :)...
