TREND WATCH: LEATHER?

I don’t actually think leather has been noted as a ‘key trend’ this season. I know trophy jackets have as well as big shoulders, but leather? I’m not too sure and to be honest, I actually don’t really care as it’s a necessity I blog about this jacket.

Hot, fierce, hot… the picture says all of this don’t you think? I only wish my chest area wasn’t so big, as those of you who know me are fully aware the jacket is not going to look like this on me as it does on this model. ‘Drat!’ Time to stop the carbs and just live on smoothies methinks... Just kidding. Everyone who knows moi, is aware I couldn’t starve myself if I tried. After all, I am the woman who once described a piece of toasted wholemeal bread as “this is some WICKED toast man”…(emphasis on the word ‘wicked’. I foolishly got excited over toast with some ex work colleagues, who to this day have never let me forget)… so no, no eating disorders over here.

Anyhow I digress, this jacket is badass and I got to have it. All Saints, £395

FASHION NEWS: REISS SPRING SUMMER COLLECTION IS IN STORE NOW!

All I can say is find your way to the nearest store and feast your eyes on what one of my favourite brands (in joint place with All Saints of course), have in stock. They are simply on F.I.R.E! For instance, their silk dress orange on top, black on bottom (£145) = hot. Their accessories line makes you want to buy everything up for you would no longer need to bother with anything else. The brightly coloured yellow cotton mix pencil skirt for £89 is a definite ‘must have’. Lord God, I need the whole collection in my wardrobe, will you help me?

Reiss are hot on the design front, but not hot on uploading the new collection onto their website, so you’re just going to have to wait either until they do or get down to the nearest store now.

TREND WATCH: SOFT LEATHER JACKET

Jeez… if the credit crunch wasn’t biting at my wallet so fiercely, then I would have invested in several different types as there are too many on the high street right now. So many in fact, I’ve had to put a temporary ban on my weekly trips to Bluewater with Boss Lady just in case the MasterCard decides to pop out for a quick swipe.

For instance, let’s take the white studded leather jacket from Topshop. Costing £130, its biker chic and it’s a definite statement piece. It’s new for spring (I think) and I’m hoping it will be available online in the next few weeks (Well, I am but my accountants not)…as I’m not about to trek to Oxford Circus to go fight through the crowds made up of London College of Fashion students, young teenage girls and their Mum’s who have come down to London for a ‘day trip to Topshop’s flagship’ and tourists… no thanks.

Also, I’m eagerly waiting for what Reiss and All Saints have to offer on this trend, as you know anything they produce is 100% ‘hot’. A message to all ‘Fierce List retailers ‘Hurry up with the sales already. Everyone knows the stock left is rubbish as all the good stuff goes in the first few days, (if not first week) of the sales. We’re ready for the new gear’.
